Monologues. Jay Leno is the King. Ellen, the Queen. And Eve Ensler gave the word “monologue” new meaning. Eve Ensler’s mission: ending violence against women. Thank you Eve! In our Monologue World, with gg, the violence has been over for so long, we hardly remember its existence. It is a happy place where men and women play together well. Shared goals: someone to love, something to do and something to hope for.
"The gg Monologues" opend May 5, 2006, at The Backlot in Sarasota, Florida starring twelve local actresses. Stepping into gg's shoes, these actresses chronicled one year in the life of gg ~ single sarasota girl, a fictional character, created by Amy Knapp in 2002. The series of plays called "The gg Monologues” is written by Amy Knapp and directed by Amanda Schlachter.
gg, which stands for "Good Girl" (at least until the movie comes out), lives and works in Sarasota as an investment advisor. Her clients trust her enormously and have no use for her musings about men, shoes or lip gloss, therefore gg speaks through the line drawing on such subjects.
